Jinendra Ranasinghe the private tuition master who has prepared a propaganda handbill quoting the name, telephone numbers and the location where the classes are held stating that he had revealed in advance 3 questions of the Advanced Level Chemistry exam paper at a seminar which exam happened to be the exam held yesterday and was distributed among Gampaha students. He has

however disappeared after this incident, it is reported.

The CID were on his tracks on the suspicion of leaking out exam papers in advance and on complaints of the Examinations Department for the offence of distributing handbills at a time when examinations are over and on coming to know about it he had switched off his phones and had disappeared. It has by now been revealed that no seminar has been conducted in Gampaha area which as mentioned in the handbill exam where questions were exposed. The information secured thus reveals that before starting classes in Gampaha area he has attempted as a publicity strategy and these questions have been found out at the moment of the exam itself and he had misled the students indicating that it was he who released them.

The police managed to track his address from his registered telephone number as quoted in the handbill and arrived at his home in Padalangala, Kandana where he was residing and had come across his father and brother and on information that they had co-operated in distributing these handbills. They have by now been taken into police custody. They have been arrested by the Crime Unit of Gampaha Division and are expected to be produced before courts tomorrow (22).
