Giggles in parliament when Lady Member of Parliament speaks in broken Sinhalese
When Lady Member of Parliament Vijayakala Maheswaran rose up to commence her speech yesterday in parliament, Minister Dinesh Gunawardena began to disturb her by finding fault with the House relating to the new constitution. Because of his interference she was not able to start speaking for a number of
minutes and it was for the first time that she spoke out about this interference in broken Sinhalese.
"Allow us to speak will you ... talk after I talk ... sit down ... here, Dinesh Gunawardena manthrithuma ... give us time ... aiyo I have been provided with a mike. You'll come to parliament and start playing ... with how much suffering we have come here to parliament to speak ... here today it's not regarding this no ... everyday bringing up racialism ... lifting it outside ... lifting it inside ... 'pissu' talk".
Having heard MP Vijayakala speak in Sinhala, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa who turned up in parliament had broken into a laugh accompanied by others. Seen below is how she spoke in Sinhala
