PERPETUAL TREASURIES FM CHANNEL LAUNCHED

The FM channel experimental transmission was launched separately this morning (3) by Integrated Media Networks (IMN) which is a shareholder affiliated to the extensive media network belonging to Perpetual Treasuries, the latter of which incidentally took a stand in local news to a great degree in recent times.

Its experimental transmission has been put into effect under frequencies 99.5 and 99.7 FM and comes
under the name Rasa FM. These frequencies were initially owned by a Tamil radio channel of the CSN media network and later came into possession of Sky Networks Company. It is of special and ironical interest to note that the slogan of this Rasa Channel is being launched by a group supposed to have earned monies by being involved in a treasuries transaction and is known as 'Deal ekata wada ... feel eka rasai'. 

Apart from this particular channel, newspapers such as 'Janayugaya'. 'Sun' and 'Weekend' would be initiated by this network while arrangements are underway these days to launch a rupavahini channel by the name of 'Nalika Anka 4'. It is reported that the newspaper would see the light of day prior to the Sinhala New Year while the rupavahini is expected to be made public in June. "Siyatha' media network too is understood to be absorbed by the IMN ...network in future.
