Prime Minister Ranil's response to Sirasa News Volkswagen revelation

Sirasa News First had yesterday revealed that the factory to assemble vehicles which was opened sometime back in Kuliyapitiya was opened with the Volkswagen Company in Germany not knowing even a wee-bit about it.

Though the public could be happy about the dawn of job opportunities because of this factory,

engaging in election propaganda activities by utilising the name Volkswagen and later by concealing this fact and by thinking of the point of political disadvantages and hiding the fact that there is no Volkswagen involved and by using a similar logo in a different manner thus leading the public astray has by now created some confusion. What some others query is why the truth was not exposed in advance, as such.

After this revelation, Prime Minister Mr. Ranil Wickramasingha has spoken at a ceremony yesterday as a reply to Sirasa saying that before inquiring from the Volkswagen Company it could have been queried from him as to whether the Volkswagen Company is investing in Sri Lanka or not, What he had further said was that the decision to install a factory for the production of Volkswagen vehicles without an investment of the Volkswagen Company was taken during the start of the year 2016 and that because of a personal grudge with him, others need not distort their minds.
