Even if dead body of wife who went to Kuwait is sent to Sri Lanka ... I don't want the dead body nor the gold jewellery -- husband has said
A woman from Hanwella had left to work in Kuwait 15 years ago and has neglected caring for her husband and 2 children and had instead been involved in various misdeeds as well. As a result of all this she had been imprisoned in that country. Later she had died while in prison with a roof of her cell collapsing on her body. Subsequently Kuwait authorities have
sent her dead body with her gold jewellery in tact to Sri Lanka.
Her husband had in the meantime looked after and cared for the 2 children with great difficulty after the wife had forgotten about him and the children and she had not even cared to even inquire anything about them either, as far as he could remember. Ultimately for having lived a disparaging life the husband had refused to accept custody of his wife's dead body and has said that he is not even interested in the gold jewellery sent with the body.
The dead body of this 45 year old woman, D.P. Ramani had to be thus cremated with government expenses under these circumstances. As a consequence her body was finally not accepted at her house in Walauwaththa area in Hanwella.
