The deputy minister of Port Nishantha Muthuhettigama at the request of Minister of Port Arjuna Ranatunga had appealed the Archbishop Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith to issue instructions to stop construction of the tall Christmas tree that is been constructed at the Gall Face green as it is simply a waste of money.It is said that the money spent on this project could be given to poor people.A notice has been displayed at

the spot in this regard.

This was revealed by Archbishop Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith at a media briefing held.The officially it would announced today.
