A person travelling close to Kompanngaveediya (Slave Island) these days would get the rare opportunity of spotting two buildings of a queer shape. This construction of a residential complex where one building is observed in an erect position while the other building is seen leaning towards the previously-mentioned building is nevertheless a sight which Sri Lankans are not accustomed to.

The creator of this construction is Moshe Safdie whose birth place is Israel. He gets credit to several
creations including Mariana Bay Sand in Singapore and Kafman Centre in Egypt. The leaning tower named 'Colombo Residential Altair' covers an extent of about 8000 land area adjoining the Slave Island Beira Lake and comprises of 63 stories while the erect building has 63 stories. The building itself is of a height of 240 meters. It is planned to include 400 apartments. It would fulfil requirements of all urban necessities such as swimming pools and exercising areas.

The construction would be handled by a Dubai Branch of an Indian Company and construction activities are expected to end by 2017. A large number of apartments are already sold out as reported. An apartment comprising 3 bedrooms have been sold for a price of close upon 900 lakhs. A description of the building containing photographs and video, from below
