Permission to allow a lady of the expectant mother to be with her during delivery in government hospitals

A media conference was held on the 03rd instant at  the health education office organised by the society of  the consultants of Obstetrics and Gynecologists. The professor Hemantha Senanayake had said addressing the media had added that in order to get courage at the time of a

delivery of a pregnant mother she could nominate another woman to be in her bedside in a labour room.

The consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Castle street hospital for women Dr Hemantha Senanayake adding further had added that from the year 2008 and in the year 2011 the ministry of health had made this as a strategy has been adopted.

He had added that this right be exploited by all mothers to be and this would be made popular and as an awareness to all pregnant mothers.He had said that all expectant mothers should take this exclusive opportunity to their advantage.and had made a plea to make use of this opportunity..It is said this opportunity was allowed for husbands of expectant mothers in private hospitals and but not in government hospitals.
