Minister to grant a respite period for penalty of overtaking from left

The minister of transport Nimal Siripala de Silva has lamented that it has been considered to allow a respite period for the penalty of rupees twenty five thousand imposed for the offence of overtaking vehicles from the left side.

In this regard the Minister is prepared to discuss on this matter with the private bus

companies.The minister had disclosed this at the debate on the budget  had in the parliamentary committees on the 28th instant..

Accordingly the fine of rupees twenty five thousand to be imposed for the offence of overtaking from the left would not be implemented with immediate affect.
