Father slashes the neck of Mother and slashes his neck also as children have not treated the duo

Owing to the children not looking after both parents a husband in sheer regret and frustration  had slashed the neck of his wife 73 year old  with a knife and slashed his neck too.The duo had been admitted to the Colombo South Teaching hospital on the 15th instant for treatment of their injuries.

The woman who had died is a 73 year old mother Nandawathie Dahanayake.This incident had taken

place on the 15th instant yesterday morning when she was inside her dwelling .She had been thrown down steps and had incurred injuries to her spinal cord also.

It is reported that the duo had lived in isolation in a house in old Mirihana road.The Mirihana police is conducting investigations.
