Eyes of drivers of school vans to be tested
It is reported that the officials of the Health ministry are to commence a project to examine the eyes of all drivers of vans who transport school children to schools in western province during the first week of December.
A similar programme had been conducted in the year 2015.The director general of health services Consultant physician Palitha Maheepala had quipped that after testing of eyes many had been
provided with spectacles.It was said that many have had 'white' in their pupils and hence they had been short sighted as well as long sighted.
The director general had lamented that owing to their defects in the eyes been remedied certain accidents have been averted.In fact the motive behind this endeavour is prevention of accidents.
It is reported by the officials of the health ministry that this programme would be extended to other areas of the country as well was disclosed by the officials of the ministry of health.
