Complaints from neighbors about noises being heard from Uduwe Thero's temple in mornings!

Unbearable ear-bursting noises from Allan Methiniyarama in Colombo 5 being heard by neighbours in the area where Ven. Uduwe Dhammaloka Thero is the Chief Incumbent has been the subject of a complaint made by them yesterday. Among the neighbours concerned, there is also a former MP of the Colombo District and Minister. What was stated in the complaint was that the petitioners are residents living in the vicinity
of Allan Methiniyarama Vihara in Colombo 5 and that during five and six in the morning hours the loudspeakers in the said vihara are used for the purpose of broadcasting CDs with a tumultous sound.

The petitioners allege that this situation is detrimental to their peace of mind as well as the health and in addition results in disturbing studies of the children, accompanied by a risk of headaches, stress and contributing towards a state of high blood pressure in the process and therefore the complainants have requested for an order from courts to control this situation.

Five persons including former Minister Mr. Milinda Moragoda have revealed this matter at Colombo Magistrate's Court against Allan Methiniyarama Chief Incumbent Uduwe Dhammaloka Thero under 98 (1) of 136 (1) (a) of the Criminal Procedure Code Act 1979 No. (15) requesting that this situation be restrained. The case is scheduled to be heard once more on forthcoming 6th.
