Complaint against engineer Saman Perera for sitting on Speaker's official chair

A complaint has been received by the Speaker Karu Jayasuriya that for the first time in the history of our parliament a person Saman Perera an engineer  had sat on the official chair of the Speaker.

It is reported that after the parliament had adjourned until the cleaning procedures were completed an outsider had been sitting on the Speaker's official chair.About this incident the member of parliament for the Matale district Ranjith Aluwihare had complained the Speaker in writing on the 17th instant.It has been stated that after the parliament was adjourned on the 16th instant this incident had taken place.

In the complaint the member of parliament Ranjith Aluvihare had stated that in the eminent parliament the Speakers chair is very exclusive and for a person to sit on it is a terrific insult to the Speaker as well as to the eminent parliament.

In this letter Ranjith Aluvihare had drawn the attention of the Speaker and had said that this type of an incident should not create a precedence in the future.
