"If someone comes to lift your hands on mother ... you'll get a beating! That's the way!"
Singer Chilli Thilanka who had been absconding after assaulting an elderly person living in the same as he in Pelawatta, Battaramulla surrendered to Talangama Police today and after being produced before Kaduwela Magistrate today itself was
remanded until next 25th.
After this punishment and the prison bus was about to proceed, the rupavahini camera was focused on him at which moment he had blurted out saying, "I haven't killed anybody ... I haven't done any wrong ... if somebody comes to lift his hand on mother; he'll get a beating ... that's the way". What he had said in the presence of police previously was that on the day of the incident when he was travelling in the company of his mother that he had had an exchange of words with a person on the road and later the man had tried to hit him and had tried to assault his mother too and for that reason he had dealt blows on the man.
However what the 57 year old man who wad admitted to hospital bleeding as a result of this incident and has had stitches done on his tongue has told a contradictory story. At the moment of the incident crowds came on the scene to rescue the injured man when Chilli who fled from the place had hid himself for 2 days and until he surrendered to police, he had escaped the police net. The video where Chilli said, "if someone comes to lift his hands ... he'll get a beating ... that's the way" is seen below
