Film and Cassette producer under "Tharanga' label, Wijaya Ramanayake expires

The person who for the first time introduced songs in cassettes under the Taranga label and the renowned film producer Wijaya Ramanayake has expired.

Wijaya Ramanayake who had been ailing for some time

had expired on the 26th instant at the age of 71 years.

He was instrumental in revolutionizing the songs industry in our country and began the cassette industry from the year 1978.

Among the films produced by Wijaya Ramanayake were  Aradana, Kaliugaya,Ridee Nimnaya and Madeniye Simieon.He had received many awards for several films.
