Those who supported the former President, the "Maharajono" to become a Member of parliament is a "thunderbolt" like crime

The general secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party,Minister of Agriculture, Duminda Dissanakaye has added that those who made the former president  once called the "Maharajano" for giving the leadership to win the ethnic war and then worked tirelessly to bring him down to the status

 of  just a Member of Parliament was a  "thunderbolt" like crime.

This statement had been made speaking at the meeting  addressing the the electoral members.Adding further he had said we all loved the former President by making him to remain at the top until his death.The constitution was changed to suit that wish and got it passed in the parliament. The former President had called for a presidential election two years ahead of his term. We cannot take blame for that he had said.

The first citizen of the country had been pushed down to a lower level of a Member of Parliament.In that sense for his sake should  the other supporters of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party feel sorry? he had quipped.
