The elder brother and elder sister of the young man Gayashan of Bandagiriya, Hambantota have been taken into custody by the police for having behaved in a manner of misleading the media and the public on the occasion when he scooted

off from the police when apprehended over an incident connected with a theft of paddy recently.

The allegation against the two them, namely Roshan Kumara (37) and Nimali (38) is that the suspect has been retained, providing refuge and making false statements to government servants with the motive of providing cover to him from lawful punishment after he had run away from police custody.
