Rio Olympics 2016  dream of Niluka washed away

Sri Lanka’s champion badminton player Niluka Karunaratne has had hopes of playing in the second round also in the event he was beaten in the first round. However it is reported that his

hopes had been shattered.

It is reported that he had won one first round match and lost one other match. However Niluka had failed to enter the round of the final 16.

There had been 13 teams in the badminton discipline. Niluka had been named in the “P” team.In this team Niluka had become only  the second hence he had not been able to compete in the second round as he was placed second in the team. Hence his Olympic dreams thus had been shattered.
