After revelation of thug vehicle Ranjan - Mahindananda in 'parliament lobby boxing'
After the revelation to the media by Deputy Minister Ranjan Ramanayaka about a vehicle belonging to MP Mahindananda parked in the Madiwela MP Housing Complex yesterday and when they met each other face to face in parliament there had been an exchange of words and a case of fracas between the two of them is supposed to have erupted, it was reported by parliament sources.
Before the situation flowed into a physical battle Anura Dissanayaka, Kumara Welgama and some
MPs had mediated and had brought the matter to a settlement, it was understood. Ananda Aluthgamage, a relative brother of former Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage had revealed about a certain vehicle which was involved in some nefarious activities in Nawalapitiya area during the past regime, Deputy Minister Ranjan Ramanayaka who summoned the media and standing near it had been giving telephone calls and had presented the relevant information in an alluring manner. Mahindananda who really was hurt about this incident after activities of parliament commenced last evening around 3.00 he had met Ranjan at the lobby situated between the Speaker's Office on the second floor and the entrance where the MPs are expected to enter to the House. At that point there had been an exchange of words between the two of them.
"It's you who pull out the garbage!" Aluthgamage had rattled out as soon as he set his eyes on Ranjan. Ranjan had then responded saying, "It's your wife who gives me all this garbage!" When MP Aluthgamage had then said, "Film actions not permitted here ...", an MP who observed the incident says that Ranjan had replied saying that he is able to have fisticuffs just like in films. At that each of them had been pushing each other and had approached the point of getting into a conflict. When the two had attempted throwing around their hands at each other MPs Kumara Welgama, Anura Dissanayaka and Ranjith Soysa had intervened and brought the situation to a settlement. At that moment there also had been some police officers too at the spot.
This is what Ranjan Ramanayaka said when the media questioned him on this: "Yes there was an argument that took place between us. Both of us pushed each other. It's true that we wanted to engage in fisticuffs". Prior to this, during the last Presidential period at a time Mahindananda Aluthgamage appeared at a programme over the Derana Channel Ranjan spoke over the phone under the guise of a listener by the name of 'Matara Sunil' making allegations using the words "Hora ... hora" on Mahindananda which incident was subjected to some sensation.
