On the 03rd instant yesterday the President Maithripala Sirisena addressing a gathering at the Public library auditorium had this to say.

The media freedom, the independence of the media personnel,to strengthen the media institutions,to

make them stronger are the aims of this government.These areas will be made to flourish and as a government we will take the responsibility to achieve these was added by the President.According to him he believes that the world is controlled not by politicians but by the media personnel.However the activities of some media organizations are criticized by some other media institutions.

These media organizations are protected and made stable by the government.However the administrators of web sites should know well to what extent the media freedom is used in their activities he had added.
