To defend Kusal, SLC had spent Rs 15 million - Thilanga
The chairman of Sri Lanka Cricket Minister Thilanga Sumathipala speaking on the decision of the International Cricket Conference to exonerate all charges made against Kusal Janith Perera who was accused of taking banned substances.After Kusal Janith Perera was
charged with the offense of taking banned substances the authorities of the Sri Lanka Cricket with Thilanga Sumathipala at the helm had made all endeavours to prove Kusal Janith Perera innocent.
In this exercise the SLC cricket had deployed the services of three attorneys at law.They have worked together and had sought the advise of a law firm Morgan Law Company in the United Kingdom.They had been able to convince the ICC about the innocence of Kusal Janith Perera.This had made the ICC to lift the ban imposed on Kusal a few months ago which deprived him of participating in all types of cricket including the ICC T 20 world cup tournament.
For consultation fees paid to the Morgan Law Company in UK the SLC had spent a sum of rupees 13 million.
