Former Minister of Sports Mahindananda Aluthgamage to be arrested after arrival of President from Japan?
The political circles believe that the former Minister of sports Mahindananda Aluthgamage would be arrested after the FCID had questioned him on the misappropriation of funds in the Ministry of sports during his tenure in the
ministry.
It is reported that the FCID had found out that carrom boards and daam boards to the value of rupees thirty nine million (Rs 39 million) had been imported by the Sathosa duty free on the instructions of the former Minister of sports Mahindananda Aluthgamage and written document by the secretary of the ministry of sports.
The former Minister of sports Mahindananda Aluthgamage was to be arrested last week. But according to political circles in the absence of the President Maithripala Sirisena his arrest had not taken place.However in this regard a decision would be taken when Maithripala Sirisena returns from his visit to Japan.
