No confidence motion against Minister Champika

Today the 05th instant a no confidence motion was handed over to the Speaker in Parliament against the government Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka. The no confidence motion had been signed

by 42 members of parliament who are in the so called joint opposition.

The reason is that the minister is alleged to have driven a jeep that had knocked a motor cyclist at Rajagiriya.

It is not certain yet whether the speaker would take this matter up for debate or not.
