Balloon-joke at Diyawanna Avurudu

Various items of an entertainment value were presented at the Derana Diyawanna Avurudu Programme with the participation of politicians
on behalf of the Sinhala Avurudu this year.

When announcer Lanka who presented the programme was in the process of approaching each politician and was trying to question them about the competition and when she had got close to MP Mr. Rohitha Abeygoonawardena it had been observed that he had been involved in some sort of a gimmick with a balloon.

MP Mr. Welgama who was in proximity at that moment too was making an effort to display that very same gimmick to her. In the process, the announcer who was to see the manner in which the balloon was going up and down, bringing to memory some obscene interpretation as such actually caused some inconvenience to her. Later, she asked Mr. Buddhika Pathirana as to what really was taking place. As if to add spice to the query in the end, what he had said was that it was an illness that aging people get.
