The chairman of the sustainable energy authority Keethi Wickremaratne had added that the drought is continuing and hence reluctantly though power cuts of short duration are to be

enforced.But the times as proposed earlier.

He had added that owing to the prevailing drought weather the requirement of electricity has gone up by 200 mega watts per day.Hence this subject needs to be discussed with the responsible relayed authorities.

Owing to the intense heat the usage of fans and air conditioners have increased.The Chairman Keerthi Wickremaratne had added that during the time of the former President Chandrika Kumaratunga's time in such a acute situation,  the consensual times were adopted.Hence similarly the consensual times need to be implemented.Hence such a proposal is to be made when power cuts are implemented.
