Cable cars would come to Nuwara Eliya first
AS Nuwara Eliya is a tourist destination in Sri lanka where many tourists patronise, it is reported the cable cars project would start from
there.
In this regard a memorandum of understanding had been signed at the Nuwara Eliya Municipal council premises.
A Chinese Company would commence this project with the coordination of M/s Aitken Spence and the Municipal council Nuwara Eliya. It is learnt that from the Nuwara Eliya Signal Tree mountain area the cable cars would travel towards Gregory lake and from there up to Nanu Oya railway station.The distant to be covered as about 06 kilometres.
It is reported that American dollar billion 50 to 60 is to be spent on this project.The project is to commence on the 20th February and is due to be completed in six months.
The agreement had been signed by the Mayor of Nuwara Eliya MC Mahinda Dodampegama and representatives of Shan Don Company of China.
