The Ombudsman had received a complaint that owing to the  three seat in CTB buses the commuters are terribly inconvenienced. In this regard after a probe the officials of the CTB had
promised the Ombudsman that hereafter the buses would not have three passenger seats which cause inconvenience to commuters. This had been stated on the 05th yesterday. The consumer protection organisation had been thus informed accordingly.

The Chairman of the consumer protection organisation Ranjith Vithanage had added that this decision  of removing the three seater seats and be replaced by two seater seats was made after the inquiry the Ombudsman has had in this regard on the 05th instant.

For this discussion the officials of the Sri Lanka Transport Board, officials of the Motor Traffic department and the officials of the national transport board had been invited.  It is

The officials of the SLTB who were present had not only agreed to remove the three passenger seats in the existing buses and replacing them with two passenger seater seats and also had promised to have the seats in this manner when buses are imported again.This was also added by  Ranjith Vithanage.

It had also been said that the space between the seats and the length of the seats also be determined and in this connection new laws would be enacted with the assistance of the officials of the motor traffic  commissioner's department.

As no representative from the national transport commission was present Ranjith Vithanage had added that he would discuss this matter with them and make a similar request to them also. .
