Who are the six who are to cross over to the Government this eve?
Information about Keheliya -- Manusha
Six MPs of the SLFP who took their seats in the Opposition without joining in with the UNP-SLFP after the General Election last time are expected to make a 'jump' from
the Opposition at the voting for the budget this evening in parliament. Political sources say that all secret discussions in this connection have come to a close now and that their switching over has been confirmed. All throughout this day the President Maithripala Sirisena would be spending his time in parliament and the above-mentioned six would be meeting President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasingha and providing their support for the procedures to be carried out by the government, it was reported.
Though the six individuals concerned had made it a point not to divulge their identity until the real switching over takes place, according to reports received by us, three of them are those who switched over from the UNP with the hope of strengthening Mahinda Rajapaksa's camp. One of those UNPers is Keheliya Rambukwella who represents Kandy while the other is a young MP from Galle, Manusha Nanayakkara, it was learned. It has still not been possible for us to get further details about the other four and among them are two who represent Uva and Sabaragamuwa, it was understood.
