The wild life officers had been able to cordon a pig killed to be sold for flesh in Kataragama area on the 24th instant , the Uduwap Poya day .This

detection had been made by the wild life officers in Kataragama Kochchipanatha area. One half of the  pig  killed had been taken away by the hunter while the balance left behind had been found by the wild life officers.

It is reported that on the Buttala-Kataragama route this type of killings are common for those who want to earn a buck and during this period when thee are many visitors to Kataragama it is more common in areas close to Kataragama.
