The President of the main University Union with 10 others hospitalised with dengue 

It is reported that 10 students both male and female including the President of the main University union  attached to the Sri

Jayewardenapura university have been admitted to the Kalubowila Teaching hospital suspected to have acquired dengue.

Among them the President of the main University Isuru Eranda too has been admitted for treatment it is reported.

The union leader had added that he is been treated for five days at the hospital.He had said that the University premises is kept clean  always by giving attention but he is not sure of the cleanliness of the neighbouring houses. He had said he does not know whether the public health inspectors check these houses.He was told that other campus students also have been affected like him.

When the vice chancellor Sampath Amaratunga was contacted he had this to say.He had said that daily from the Maharagama Municipal council the garbage is taken away. In addition the premises and the environment is subjected to thorough cleaning by deploying several persons and there are 13000 students who are studying here, but he was not sure whether the same is done by the neighbouring house holders. As a result innocent students have been victims of dengue he had added.The public health inspectors should take action against them.
