Question on the issuing of  vouchers instead of uniforms

It is reported that the ministry of education has decided to issue vouchers to school children instead of
suppling the materials for the school uniforms for school children. The school teachers union of Sri Lanka had objected to this decision taken by the ministry of education.

The reason for this decision has been surfaced by the authorities of the teachers union of Sri Lanka is that the officials of the ministry of education is not able to formulate a system as to how this issue could be sorted out. This was added by the general secretary of the teachers union of Sri Lanka  Mahinda Jayasinghe.

The general secretary had urged the government to identify the major areas of this exercise and to arrange a scheme to supply the school uniforms to students as done previously.

He also had added that a great suspicion has arisen to the fact that the ministry of education is attempting to prune down this facility of providing school uniforms to children.
