It's an year since Athula has left behind ....

Last week we published a photograph of an occasion when popular singer Athula Adhikari had gone on a sojourn with members of his previous family. What was indirectly inferred by it was that Athula had once again

got together with his old family.

Some years back Athula Adhikari who was searching for some kind of treatment for the depression he encountered because a certain politician had crept into the midst of Athula and Samitha had afterwards fallen in love with a young and tender model, the media reported and shortly the two of them had joined hands with each other and subsequently it was also reported that they had even been blessed with a baby girl. When the situation was such, Athula had deserted the family when the daughter was just 2 years old. Amaya had told a weekend newspaper saying that his request had been, "I want to stay alone". Now the said daughter is barely 3 years old. She had not seen the colour of her father for one year. It was during this process that Athula, Samitha and the two children had gone on a tour to Middle East.

Because of this queer behaviour two families it is apparent have lost their way. Some ideas expressed by Amaya to the Sunday Rivira newspaper is as follows: "What I previously said was that there is no age gap between Athula aiya and me. But I feel whether there really is a difference in our age. By next year Athula aiya will be 50 and I'll be 27. Actually our feelings are different. I am still young. Still we haven't thought of separating. But more than the bond between we two, his work has become important to him. Maybe he would have thought that these things are enough for him. Sometimes it could be that he's unable to take up life's responsibilities. What happened to me was that I fell into trouble all the while knowing that Athula aiya is a character who has a strange behaviour. I and Samitha at the beginning stages were close to each other. I wonder whether that bond too became a problem. But now we are not close to each other. Even if Athula leads a married life with Samitha once again it does not matter to me. I feel sorry for my daughter. Athula aiya deserted that family when those children were big. But my daughter is still passing through an age where she can't understand things. I did this at my own wish. Now I have to face the blame from my home-people also. Let those who want to go .... go; can't keep them by force no. I am trying to make up my mind thinking that this is an experience I gained in my life. I am still young. If I get a suitable person, I"ll get married again".
