There had been several media reports published that several years ago most Venerable Maduluwawe Sobitha thera had made a request as to how his funeral arrangements should be conducted.However he had not stated anything how his

cremation arrangements should be made. He also had not left a last will. These facts were stated by  the Sri Jayewardenapura Sanga Saba Chief Bikkhu Venerable Meegahatenne Chandrasiri thera of the Kotte Sri  Kalyani Samagri  Maha  Sanga Saba.

The Veberable Meehatenne Chadrasiri thera had added that the media should not have  published such information about the  most Venerable Maduluwawe Sobitha thera at a time when the whole country is grieving about his demise and what should be preached  s about the Lord Buddha's preaching's that everything in this world is temporary.

Venerable Meegahatenne Chandrasiri thera had quipped this at a media briefing held at  the government information  department where the funeral arrangements of the most Venerable Maduluwawe Sobitha thera were finalised.
