Wimal who tried to go abroad .... to Negombo Courts!

Police Media Spokesman and Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr. Ruwan Gunasekera says that after recording a statement from leader of the Jathika Peramuna Mr. Wimal Weeravansha who was taken into custody by officers of the Criminal Investigation

Department would subsequently be produced before Negombo Magistrate's Court.

Mr. Weeravansha who came this morning for the purpose of going on a European tour was arrested as a result of trying to travel abroad with a false passport which had been invalidated because it had been misplaced sometime ago.

What the Chief Organiser of the Government Party Mr. Lakshman Kiriella said was that if there is no problem for Mr. Weeravansha in relation to legal provisions for going overseas the Prime Minister had said that the latter would intervene in that connection.
