Three and a half year old child dies of suffocation when a medicinal pill gets stuck in throat

A  three and a half year old child Dewmini Promodara from Mihintale,Mahakanadarawa area is reported to have died in a very unfortunate manner. The cause of her death had been attributed to

suffocation following a medicinal tablet been stuck in her throat.

The incident had taken place yesterday when her parents had attempted her to swallow a medicinal pill. The pill had not gone into her stomach. Instead it had got stuck in her throat.She had showed symptoms of uncomfortableness.

The parents had tried her to drink more water while her chest was stroked.However her agony had prolonged which had resulted in her been fainted. But in a few minutes she had succumbed to death owing to suffocation.She is the third child in a family of three children.
