President orders to search for the missing Police Sergeant in the treasure hunting case

The Police sergeant  P.Gunatilake who was attached to the  special round up raid unit of the Vavuniya DIG police division has been missing from the 07th of August.

It is learnt that a statement is to be taken from him in regard to a matter connected with treasure

hunting exercise involving top police officers in the Vavuniya police division. His statement has become vital for the investigations to be completed it is reported. Once his statement is recorded a few police officers would be brought to book. Hence finding the Police sergeant has become a vital issue to conclude the pending inquiry.

He has disappeared before a  vital statement was to be recorded from him  .On the instructions of the President Maithripala Sirisena a special search has commenced to locate him. In this regard a special police unit has been deployed.

The President had ordered  the Inspector General of Police to send a report to  him in this connection.
