Because of Wimal's banner the house adjourned for 10 minutes

A huge banner worded as  "Hybrid war crime court to betray soldiers not wanted" had been displayed in the house by the back bench opposition Members of Parliament yesterday led by Wimal Weerawansa ,Vasudeva Nanayakkara and others yesterday. While displaying this banner in the house

yesterday the 06th instant and as a result of making noises it was decided by the Deputy Speaker Thilanga Sumathipala to adjourn the proceedings of the house for 10 minuties until the situation calmed down.

When the banner was brought forward towards the Members of the government Members of Parliament of the government side Palitha Thevapperuma and Nalin Bandara had come to confront them. They had tried to grab and have a tussle with those who were coming forward carrying the banner and was about to clash with each other. The clash was prevented with the intervention of the security officers and Member of opposition Mahindananda Aluthgamage.This made the two parties who confronted to disperse.

The deputy Speaker Thilanha Sumathipala had got off from his seat and had disappeared ordering for an adjournment of the proceedings for 10 minutes.

The Member of Parliament Wimal Weerawansa had taken photographs of the banner through a mobile phone to which Members of the government had criticised the action of Wimal Weerawansa saying he is creating a wrong precedent in parliament.
