Minister Nimal Siripala bans beggars in trains and on platforms
From the 1st of November the department of Railway has decided to stop the annoyance to train
commuters by beggars within trains and on railway platforms.
In this regard all the beggars who are a nuisance to train commuters in carriages and on platforms will be stopped by the security personnel of the railway department with the assistance of the Police.
This is a collective decision of the Minister of transport Nimal Siripala de Silva, Deputy Minister Ashoka Abeysinghe and the General manager of Railways Wijaya Amaratunga.This decision had been taken by taking into the careful consideration the views of the train commuters it is reliably reported.
