Maithri appreciates services of the astrologers

My thanks to astrologers who thought of the country ....

On immediate return to the island President Maithripala Sirisena after his sojourn to America he has made a special statement. During the course of that statement he pointed out that if the former President was present, Sri Lanka would be in a helpless situation and that he had managed to once

again establish the status due to Sri Lanka in the face of foreign leaders. He in fact proceeded to thank the astrologers to whom credit should go for taking pride of place for having brought on this change. This is how the President spoke about it:

"When Mahinda Rajapaksa could have stayed in power for another 2 years ... why did he go for an election? Still Mr. Mahinda has not responded to it. Some say that it's because of astrologers. But that also should have a reason. If the elections were not held ... it would be he who would be attending the United Nations Assembly this time too. So because of that I thank those astrologers. They have perused Astrology well .... to provide an opportunity for the change that was necessary for the country".
