Lalith Weeratunga and Anusha Pelpita granted bail

The former permanent secretary to the President Mahinda Rajapaksa and the chairman of the Telecommunication regulatory commission
Anusha Pelpita have been allowed bail. They have been asked  to pay rupees one lakh in cash and  with three body bails of rupees one million each.

They had been remanded after they were questioned  and interrogated in regard to the distribution of "sil' clothing amounting to Rs 600 million by the Police frauds crime investigation unit.

The Magistrate of the Chief Magistrate courts Kusala Sarojini Weerawardena had ordered them to report to the Police fraud crimes investigation unit every month, had been banned from leaving the country,and had cautioned them not to frighten the witnesses who are giving evidence. In such and event they would be arrested again, the Magistrate had cautioned them.
