You may remember an incident reported by the media recently about three tele-actresses engaging in fisticuffs under the Nugegoda Flyover, with their clothes getting torn in the process.

Because of this incident which is supposed to have sprung up as a result of a personal issue involving Sashi, Hansamali and Aksha the Kohuwala and Mirihana Police had to conduct an inquiry and by now it has gone as far as the courts.  Though Aksha Sudari happened to get involved, she had at the moment of the tussle been watching on a side as Hansamali's friend and it had been Hansamali and Sashi who had been involved in the fight. It was Sashi's clothes that were torn.

Instead of being embarassed about this news spreading around, it now is apparent that Hansamali and Sashi who were involved in the fight had given statements to Sunday newspapers too trying to come into the limelight through that process. "I didn't hit. I was beaten .... it was Piyumi who obstructed my way and hit me. Piyumi came in Aksha's vehicle. It was Aksha who crossed the three-wheeler in which I was travelling in and stopped their vehicle. Piyumi is in an angry mood with me. The reason is a misunderstanding. It's a problem regarding her lover. She had even woven a false story saying that I was with her husband and that I was chased away from home. Nothing like that happened. I was staying at Piyumi's place for a month. In that period his husband of course wanted to have an affair with me. But not even an atom of an encouragement was received from me. It's true that we are friends. It was for that friendship that I stayed there till I could find my lodging place in Wellawatta. Piyumi also knew that her husband was coming behind me. There's nothing to hide from the friend no. There were occasions that even her husband told those things in the open. The problem started when Piyumi started visiting me with her lover. I didn't like that sort of thing .... no problem in her coming .... but I didn't like her coming with her lover. It is from the day that I told that she got angry over me.

Not only that she beat me in Nugegoda ... she even has threatened my life. She said that acid will be thrown at me. She said that she won't allow me to work in the Field. The reason to do so is her misunderstanding. Her lover got entangled in a legal matter. I can't reveal about it. Because it's a legal problem concerning the CID. She thought that such a thing happened because of a tip-off by me. It's an entirely a wrong idea. I am married. My husband is abroad. He's a Swedish national. These problems fell on his ears also. He's making arrangements to take me up there. In a few more months I'll be going".

Piyumi Hansamali, television announcer who is connected to this incident has this to say: "It wasn't I who hit her first. She hit me. I am not prepared to take a beating from anybody. She hit me .... so I hit back. She was wearing a frock. It's true ... the frock tore. Though my frock was not torn .... her blows had even made my chest get swollen. This is what happened first of all. I got a call .... that Sashi is scolding me in a dirty way. Whatever it is, that friend who called put me on 'conference mode'. Whatever it is, Sashi doesn't know that I was on line. I was listening to that one scolding that friend. I really lost my temper.

From there itself I took a three-wheeler and went to the place where Sashi was and told her to tell what's to be said, to the face. When she said that she has no place to go .... when she said she doesn't have money, it was I who gave her shelter in my home. She was in our home for two months. I didn't take 5 cents. I treated her like someone in the house. There was a small problem with my husband and I told her to go from our place. It's true .... not only her, I sent the husband also away. I'll take a decision about him also in the future. But I had no grudge though he went from the house. The story that I am with another lover at Sashi's house is absolutely false. It was she who had a problem with me. Even after leaving home ... she had a connection with my husband. The two of them got together on one occasion and even tried to send me to jail".

Piyumi who has said so to one newspaper had told another newspaper something different. According to what Piyumi Hansamali had told Rivira Newspaper, this is not an issue connected to her husband. What is quoted there is that she had made an allegation that Sashi is a bad character and that it was said that a sum of Rs. 1000 was charged to stay in the house.

These two who are not popular among most people, it is seen had strived to become popular through this incident. In this way the announcer Piyumi Hansamali and Sashi Hewage the model after having got involved in a fight in Nugegoda had later gone to courts and the issue has been directed to Samatha Mandalaya by now, to settle it in a light manner.

Both these females though married, are those who are not living with their husbands as such. Hansamali even has a child.
