Dayasiri and Harin gets adjoining seat in the Parliament

A significant feature at yesterday's first session of the national government parliamentary sessions was about the sitting arrangements made for the members of parliament.

A special feature was that the Minister of sports Dayasiri Jayasekara and the Minister of telecommunications Harin Fernando been allocated seats beside one another.

They were once close friends but since of late had become rivals when both were highly criticised when the two had after a heated argument in a TV Derana channel political programme had exchanged blows and this was highlighted in the media.

But the reporters had said that they had forgotten the past differences and had been happily attended to the sessions talking to each other.

Both of them had been chief ministers before they contested for the general election. Dayasiri Jayasekara was the chief minister of Wayamba province while Harin Fernando was the chief minister of Uva province.
