The former Chief of the LTTE's International financial unit Kumaran Pathmanathan had been proved not guilty by the Attorney General. The Attorney general had informed courts that all documents

need for investigations had been destroyed by the tenure of the previous government.

All assets that belonged to him had been transferred to various other individuals. The other day the former Minister of Law and order John Amaratunga had said that India has accused him for aiding in the Rajive Gandhi assassination and hence India wants him as a suspect.

In this regard it is learnt that in order to hand KP to India various negotiations are underway.
