VJM hints at Mahinda in presence of Maithri

At a ceremony held today the 07th instant at the Bandaranaike Memorial International

Conference Hall the former speaker and former Chief Minister of the Sabaragamuwa Province V.J.M Lokubandara at a ceremony felicitating Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe while speaking had said this:

At a time when someone was making attempts to reman in the position as President for the rest of his life, the present President Maithripala Sirisena has restricted even his period of presidency for a meagre period of just four years which had made him surprised.

He while speaking had stated what the Lord Buddha had preached. One who gets power should not hang on to it greedily, not been misled and should not get attached too closely to it.

VJM was full of praise to President Maithripala Sirisena for been very humble, not proud, one who had even refused to live in the President's house. He had said he was proud of his unique qualities.

He finally had said in future when a new Prime Minister is elected to select one who is willing to leave all perks after his tenure of service and would leave with a good clear conscience to hand over reigns to the successor.
