Sajith lost his seat trying to be selfish to obtain more preferential votes - Namal

Namal Rajapaksa after the preferential votes were announced had said that his motive was not to increase his number of preferential votes but to make his party the United Peoples Freedom Alliance to become victorious.
Bu his counterpart in the opposite camp United National Party Deputy leader who is also a cabinet Minister of the government had more intentions becoming selfish in trying to increase his tally of preferential votes.As a result he conceded the Hambantota district to the UPFA.

Namal Rajaoaksa reiterated that with the power of the government behind him and also been a cabinet Minister he had helped the UPFA to win Hambantota because he was more interested in enhancing his tally of preferential votes.

At the end of the counting Namal Rajapaksa of the UPFA had polled 127,201 preferential votes while Deputy Leader and cabinet Minister     of the UNP Sajith Premadasa had polled 112,645 preferential votes.

As a result of his selfishness Namal Rajapaksa had said from Hambantota district 04 memebrs were elected to the parliament while the UNP could only secure 02 seats.
