Nehara & Menaka flee from Sri Lanka

  Menaka - Nehara leave Sri Lanka

The tele actor and tele actress couple Menaka and Nehara who were the talk of the town in Sri Lanka in the past had yesterday left the country to reside in America. 

Menaka Rajapaksa having secured visa on the basis of educational requirements in America, Nehara has acquired her visa as his wife. During the past after both their marriages ended on the rocks both of them divorced their spouses separately and later entered into marriage together. Apparently because of the criticism aimed at them both by the society and the media they had issued taboos to the media about the occasion of their marriage. 

Addressing the media in a hurry what Menaka Rajapaksa said was that he would be leaving the country for a period of 4 years and consequent to it may decide to live permanently in America. He had further stated that he would be pursuing a course of studies for the Masters Degree in the field of Finance and a Ph.D in the field of Marketing in America. Nehara on the other hand has not planned out as to what she hopes to do in America and it is understood that both of them are contemplating applying for citizenship in America in future. As such, in future they would be disappearing from teledramas. 

What Menaka said at a time social criticism was aimed at him for leaving his family while still having a daughter from his first marriage was, "Only in Sri Lanka there's something like this .... see in countries like America ... those who like get married, marry and separate. Nobody inquires into those".
