Sanath Jayasuriya bids goodbye to political career

Former legendary cricketer, ex chairman of the SLC, turned

politician having contested from his home town Matara, Deputy Minister Sanath Jayasuriya has decided to quit from his successful yet brief political career. The abrupt end was folded up and bid goodbye after the government was dissolved.

He had said that he has no intention of obtaining for nominations for the forthcoming general elections. He also had held the post of Sri Lanka Freedom Party organizer for Matara district. He had quipped that he had informed president of the party Maithripala Sirisena and the general secretary of the SLFP Anura Priyadarshana Yapa that he is resigning from the post as the organiser of Matara district SLFP.
