When a Rupavahini channel yesterday
approached former MP Mervin Silva who did not get nominations to inquire as to why such a thing happened, Mervin Silva who was in a dejected frame of mind had spoken in an aggressive manner.

He had said that he was thoroughly hurt for not having got nominations and that the root cause of it was the three 'Thanha, Rathi' and 'Ranga', that is, naming Mahinda, Basil and Gotabhaya. He mentioned that, night after night Basil had creeped into Susil's home and scrapped off his name. It was with sorrow that he exclaimed that it was done even when there was no corruption on his hands. He then said that the next person who should be the Prime Minister in this country is Mr. Ranil Wickramasingha who is the only man of wisdom in the political arena at present.
