GREEN APPLE GARLAND FOR HIRUNIKA FROM ....

Mrs. Hirunika Premachandra, Western Province Provincial Council member began a programme

of election campaigning yesterday in the company of her newly-wedded husband, walking about First Cross Street and Second Cross Street in Pettah by distributing handbills. On that occasion a certain fruit vendor happened to welcome her suddenly by greeting and garlanding her with a garland made from a string of green-coloured apples.

Hirunika too happened to take on a new look from that decoration which was indeed somewhat of a strange welcome. Those photographs, from BELOW
