It is reliably reported that for the forthcoming parliamentary general election 2015 from the
elections secretariat that 150 Bikkhus more than for in any other previous general election have received nominations to contest.

These Bikkhus have received nominations from the new party BoduJana Peramuna,United Peoples Freedom Alliance, New Sama Samaja Party,Jana Setha Peramuna and the Sri Lanka Progressive Front.
In this parliamentary general election 2015 these figures have created a record for the highest number of Bukkhu nominees contesting.
